Texas PTA and National PTA provide essential support and resources that empower local PTAs to succeed. Through leadership training, advocacy tools, program guidance, and access to statewide and national initiatives, they equip volunteers with the knowledge and confidence to effectively serve their schools. Together, they strengthen local efforts by amplifying our collective voice and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

TRAINING FOR LOCAL PTA LEADERS

PTA TRAINING

Each PTA leaders must fulfill the following requirements:

  • be a current PTA member (membership dues must be paid) for the board they serve on

  • register their position with Texas PTA

  • complete the following trainings:

    • Foundations Essentials (Required ONCE in PTA Service Lifetime)

    • Position specific Foundations Basics (Required Annually)

      • ex: President, Secretary, Treasurer

    • PTA Boardsmanship

COUNCIL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Midland Council will provide various training opportunities beginning in May 2025 for 2026-27 Elected Leaders. This page will be updated additional trainings and dates are finalized.

Financial Reconciliation Parties

Reconciliation Committees are invited to join Council Leaders as we provide the meeting location, snacks, & assistance as questions come up as you complete you the reconciliation process.

MCPTA’s Summer Training

Each summer, we bring our leaders together for a 1 day training event from 8:30 am - 3 pm.

The training will cover position specific training, trainings all PTA leaders, round table discussions, break-out sessions, and tips for success.
